WarHo™

WarHo™ is an artist devoted to the legacy and language of Pop, reimagining Andy Warhol’s most iconic subject—Marilyn Monroe—through a body of work that is as much reconstruction as reinvention. Coming from outside the traditional structures of art education, WarHo™ approaches screenprinting with the curiosity of a documentarian and the precision of a technician, reverse-engineering Warhol’s methods to understand not just how the images were made, but why they endure.

At the center of this collection is the 1953 Gene Korman publicity photograph of Marilyn Monroe—now in the public domain—an image Warhol famously transformed and which WarHo™ revisits with forensic attention. Each work is a hand-pulled screenprint, embracing the imperfections, misregistrations, and textures that defined Warhol’s silkscreens. Across a spectrum of sizes, colors, and materials—from minimalist monochromes to dazzling diamond dust surfaces—WarHo™ explores Monroe not as a singular portrait, but as a mutable cultural symbol.

Several works incorporate diamond dust—a direct homage to Rupert Jasen Smith, Warhol’s master printer and the innovator behind the glittering finishes of Warhol’s late-period artworks. Others lean into matte textures, raw halftone patterns, and color-saturated fields that flatten or amplify the image. The collection ranges from 12” x 12” to 40” x 40”, echoing the grandeur of Warhol’s originals while remaining accessible to contemporary audiences.

Walking a deliberate line between tribute and transformation, WarHo™ places himself in a lineage of artists engaging with Warhol’s legacy—not just in terms of aesthetics, but through questions of mass media, repetition, and cultural mythology. By reintroducing Warhol’s imagery at new scales and price points, WarHo™ follows in Warhol’s footsteps to democratize Pop, reactivating it for a new generation of viewers, collectors, and critics. Each Marilyn is a love letter—but also a provocation: how many times can an image be repeated before it becomes something else entirely?
